This took me back, I stuck with Amarok on my old laptop for way too long.
Mine froze every time I tried to play a track too, and I kept saying I would fix it one day.
In the end I caved too and started keeping my music on my phone, it was just easier.
I found this while looking for simple everyday tools online https://jzaas.com.co/
Still miss trying to make that player work though.
