When I went to Austria, the music stores all sold American CDs. Except they call rap black music. There are literally signs that say, "Rock, Alternative, Black Music..."

Well, before hip-hop was profitable enough to warrant it's own section in most music stores, it was often lumped in with R&B. Some other music stores would actually lump all "black music" into either R&B or Soul.

Wow that name is horrible! That would definitely not work here in the States.

I'm a black american person and I think this is hilarious they should bring one to the us but call out king nigga

Anyone who finds this offensive is an idiot ... this has been named by a people who's first language is not English and very likely, they have gotten the word from American media. I'm sorry, but if Black comedians and hip-hop stars didn't use such a derogatory term to refer to their own people every five minutes, perhaps other countries where hip-hop culture is popular would not make such a linguistic mistake.

This is not racism.

Anonymous said...

OH GOD, EPIC FAIL!!...And they use "Nigga" to address each other, not "Nigger". That would just be stupid.

This is a great forum to discuss race politics,

Really? Should anyone be surprised by this? Germany, like Austria, is unconsciously racist as well labeling Hip-Hop/R&B/Soul "Black Music." Of course if Europeans found classical music/European Pop/Country/Alt. Rock/Rock labeled "White Music" universally in the States there would be a public international discussion.

As for Asians, at one level, I could see them adopting the term from music but at another level the US public discussion about "The N word" in recent years has become just as prolific around the world as Hip-Hop. Japan is notorious for their racism on television. At the end of the day Asians, for the most part, are clear about the fact that term is offensive but because they are meek/submissive towards Whites and we live in a world that still partially revolves around White supremacist values they don't care about offending others since White people do it/have done it in the past. I would kind of go for the "They're" ignorant plea had the Chinese government not banned the Lebron James commercial where they felt the Asian man was being mocked and I know that was huge news all over China.

where is this store?

Boy, there are some really stupid ass people here. "There are no Black people who visit Tawain or China". You need to be locked up for being too dumb.

Found it on Google Maps and the derogatory word has been removed. The Chinese name remains unchanged (黑人王, literal translation - Black Person King)

Owned by white american

Those who find it offensive are morons.. Their culture doesn't understand that it has a negative connotation. And then there are those who are so quick to jump the fence and scream RACIST! If such a stereotype wasn't portrayed- then I'm sure the idea of "nigger king" being acceptable wouldn't have translated into their culture as such.

To the nincompoop who thinks black people don't travel to China, Just got back from Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong and there are an abundance of profitable and productive blacks over there both living and traveling. I didn't experience any of the racial ignorance that is common in these "united" states. Why this store has this name, we'll never know but it should serve as reminder to all of us that hate is still an individual, internal festering sore that keeps us sick...

nigger king sells clothes to chiggers!!!! lmao

Anonymous said...

Anything to make money!! That is why it's the root of all evils. No MORALS or VALUES!!

Anonymous said...

Their slogan should be "HAVE IT YO WAY BITCH!"

Anonymous said...

Racism never cease to amaze me especially to the one who continuously keep saying it's ok cause blacks don't travel to Taiwan, China or any other asian region. Your an idiot to think and a jackass to actually share those stupid retarded comments. Believe me blacks don't just travel there, they live there as well. I guess that really mean your passport is nonexistent.

Anonymous said...

I lived in Taiwan and I really do not think that this is intentionally racist...just a sign made by someone with shite English skills.

Ignorance Internationally!!

Why is that a problem, why would you want the world to think of black people this way? We are not limited to the USA, black folks are everywhere. Its bad enough we have this problem here, don't need it anywhere else.

Blacks are hated by many and loved by few just because the world knows we are true Kings and Queens and if they dont try to forever hold us down we will once again rule the world. Peace to my black nation. Black Thoughts.

Whateva, I lived all over asia. About 1-2% black at most. They are not prosperous at all

Anonymous said...

I've been to a lot of Asian countries and I've never seen a nigger in any of them.
I asked several people from Mongolia to Hong Kong "Why the lack of Africans?"
They all answered the same, We don't like niggers.

Anonymous said...

Stfu nigger

King Nigger said...

Same, long live the KKK

Anonymous said...

Offensive it is but we will defend it regardless of a past history that had to endure this derogatory word.Just reading these posts and how ignorance has ppl calling other ppl with an opinion this word.If they weren't ashamed or didn't mean malice in this word. They wouldn't be anonymous. That shows you how this word remains relevant. As an attack on innocent people.

Anonymous said...

Er... I lived in Taiwan for years, and for what it's worth, there are lots of black people.
